FAQs

Soy Candles and wax melts

Q: What are your candles made of?

A: Our candles are made from a natural soy wax blend which includes other vegetable waxes, food grade paraffin, and proprietary ingredients.  Our fragrances are infused with high quality natural essential oils. Both of which are healthy and 100% cruelty free!

Q: What are your wax melts made of?

A: Our wax melt cubes and wax melts are all made of a soy wax blend specifically for this kind of product, and high quality fragrance oils infused with essential oils.

Q: Are your candles eco-friendly?

A: Yes! Our candles  are mostly natural soy wax which is non-toxic and a renewable resource. They burn nice and clean with very little soot.

Q: Are your products phthalate free?

A:  The majority of our candles and wax melts are phthalate free and it's specified in the items. The few that are not do not say *phthalate free*.

Q: What are the candle burn times?

A: Our travel tins can burn up to 25+ hours and our jars 55+ hours.  Remember, it is advised to only burn candles 3-4 hours at a time and never leave unsupervised.

Q: Do your candles cause soot?

A: It is advised that before each new burn, the wick be trimmed down to 1/8".  While our non-toxic, soy blend wax, our formula and candle making procedures cause minimal to no soot, this will help reduce it. As the candle starts to get low, towards the end, there may be slight soot. No worries, it is natural. Also, please note not to burn the candle more than 3-4 hours but make sure there is a full melt pool. Burning more than the recommended time will cause soot not to mention weaken the glass. However, if there is a lot of soot on the jar during the initial burning, please let us know.

Q: Do you use any additives in your products?

A: Occasionally we may use mica, dyes or glitter. But all are non-toxic and eco-friendly!

Q: How long after an order should i receive my candles?

A: To ensure our customers get the best quality products, all of our candles are made to order and are hand-poured in small batches. Which means everything we do, we do ourselves, no fancy machines or factories.  Because of this, turnaround times may vary depending on the size of the order and time of year. For most orders, please allow up to 1-3 weeks for delivery. During our busiest time (Aug-Dec), the turn around time could be more. For larger/bulk/wholesale orders please allow up to 3-4 weeks.

Q: Do you do wholesale orders?

A: Absolutely! We do have a minimum requirement and a 50% deposit for bulk/wholesale orders. Please email us at thesanctuarycandleco@gmail.com

Palm wax candles

Q: What are your skull, pillars, votives and crescent moon candles made from?

A: They are made of Palm Wax which comes from palm trees. Our vendor gets their supplies from a sustainable source and private plantation which helps reduce carbon and doesn't contribute to deforestation. It's non-toxic and eco-friendly!

Q: Why does this wax look different than soy?

A: Palm wax, when it cools, forms very unique crystallization or feather patterns. Similar to snowflakes forming or when ice forms on water. The patterns will always  vary and be different, which make these candles stunning and one of a kind!
